Professor of the Faculty of Education at the University of Primorsk and the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) Andrea Istenich is sure that the impact of artificial intelligence on learning, highlighted on the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web, in 2016 by scientists as an ethical issue, requires multiple studies.
- In the 90s, digital education was limited to the development of the digital space (Internet) and digital literacy. At the beginning of the 21st century, we are already faced with experiments in the field of social robotics. Humanoid social robots acting as teachers are being tested. In addition, the growth of digital spaces with online learning intensified during the pandemic. But it should be noted that during the pandemic, the transition to digital technologies took place quite quickly: after all, the rights of the common people, equality and inclusive pedagogy were at stake, - the well-known expert on a wide range of issues of education and training, the development and use of information and communication technologies of education shared her conclusions. , innovative concepts for different groups with special educational needs Andrea Istenich.
Since the middle of the last century, our planet has entered a new era - the Anthropocene, that is, the time when man became the main driver of environmental changes. The most striking statement about this era sounds like this: "The era of the Anthropocene is when there is a layer of plastic on the bottom of the ocean." The era also affects educational technology.
- During my speech at the VII International Forum on Teacher Education, I will present a presentation on the central aspects of online learning. This training should contribute to improving the quality of the student's finding on the Internet in order to gain knowledge, but at the same time it leaves the student the opportunity not to advertise his personality, to preserve boundaries and free will. It is on this responsible teaching of teachers that humanistic pedagogy is based.
The professor will present the results of a study on post-digital learning and learning from a social perspective. She has said more than once that in traditional teaching there is a didactic triangle, where "Student - teacher - content of teaching" is presented. In her opinion, it is necessary to go beyond traditional education and try a combination of formal and non-formal education, focused on taking into account real problems, including the pandemic.
- The educator should act as a facilitator and use authentic methods. It is easier to do this with the help of information technologies, - says Itenich.
