IFTE President's greeting

Dear participants of the XI International Forum on Teacher Education!

We are pleased to note that our initiative to create a scientific platform for exchanging experiences in teacher training, launched in 2015 at Kazan Federal University, has resonated strongly with the global educational and scientific community. Each year, not only has the number of participants grown, but also has their geographic diversity and the depth of research topics. This has allowed the IFTE Forum to become an influential research center united by the common goal of improving the quality of teacher education worldwide. In 2024, the forum welcomed 989 in-person participants from 18 countries, representing 128 universities and scientific organizations. Additionally, over 2000 people joined the forum’s sessions online. The IFTE Telegram channel now has 6949 members. The upcoming IFTE-2025 Forum, dedicated to the theme “Modern Teacher Education in International, National and Regional Dimensions: Dialogue between Russia, China and Uzbekistan”, opens new prospects for further development.

The year 2025 holds special significance for us, as the Forum is transitioning to an entirely new level and format. On May 30-31, Kazan Federal University will host the IFTE-2025 focal meetings: “Global Education: Comparative Research in Teacher Education” and “Teacher Training for Sustainable Development of Countries”. A key objective of IFTE-2025 is to foster open discussions, dialogue and active communication.

From June 3 to 5, 2025, the IFTE-2025: Uzbekistan Forum will take place in Samarkand and Shakhrisabz, organized by Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov, Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages and Shakhrisabz State Pedagogical Institute in partnership with Kazan Federal University. The scientific agenda of the Uzbekistan forum will be reflected in three conferences: “Practice-oriented Learning for Student Teachers: Models of University-School Partnership”, “Teacher Education in a Multicultural World: History and Modernity” and “School Teacher: Mission and Challenges”.

Our partners from China – researchers from Northeast Normal University and Liaoning Normal University – will also participate in the Forum.

Teacher training for sustainable development is a long-term investment in the future. Qualified and motivated teachers, equipped with deep knowledge and advanced pedagogical skills, can instill in the younger generation the values and beliefs necessary for building a sustainable and prosperous world. They are the key to achieving sustainable development goals and creating a more equitable and environmentally secure future for all.

I hope that the research presented at the Forum will enable us to conduct a comprehensive analysis of international experiences in educational reforms, best university practices and innovative teaching technologies. This will help to identify the main directions for the future development of teacher training. In times of constant change and new challenges, collaboration and the exchange of experiences are especially vital. Therefore, I wish all IFTE-2025 participants productive scientific work, engaging discussions and, of course, meaningful personal connections. We will make every effort to ensure a warm and welcoming experience for all forum guests. See you at Kazan Federal University on May 30-31, 2025!

IFTE-2025 President
